Our Mission

Our mission is to create a safe, communal space for all kinds of artists - beginners to professionals - to come together and express their creative sides. We believe in unlocking the creative within each and every one of us. Whether you’re a professional looking for new inspiration, a brand new student hoping to learn a thing or two about art, or if you’re simply interested as a blooming hobbyist, the Lufkin Art Guild is here to welcome you into the fold.

Art Exhibitions

All Levels, All Mediums

New members, non-members, and other Lone Star Art Guild affiliate members are invited to participate in our two annual judged shows. Winners in various categories and at seven levels, from students to professionals, are juried into the Lone Star Art Guild exhibit in the summer.

Classes and workshops by members of the Lufkin Art Guild are offered periodically.

Art Workshop

Your New Masterpiece

Get your hands dirty with fun and interactive art classes some of our professional artists offer.
All students love learning these creative skills and feel incredibly accomplished after leaving with their work.
Class sizes are kept small to ensure each participant gets enough attention from the instructor. These workshops are also a great way to mingle and meet other local artists in the Lufkin community.

Our Artistic Values

The Lufkin Art Guild (LAG) was created in 1975 to promote art around Lufkin, Texas. At monthly meetings at the Museum of East Texas, LAG offers inspirational demonstrations of different art mediums and techniques.

LAG hosts two public exhibitions with sales each year and offers scholarships to local art students when possible.

LAG has a solid student base that encourages pre-K through grade 12 students to pursue their passion for creativity.

LAG artists also participate in various events throughout the year, including those hosted by the Museum of East Texas, Stephen F. Austin University, Angelina College, and the Cole Center in Nacogdoches.

If you’re looking for a group that nurtures your artistic journey, look no further: we’re here and can’t wait to see what you can create.
